UK assistant coach Tony Barbee was back at the City of Palms Classic on Tuesday evening to check out James Wiseman, arguably the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2019.

Wiseman — a 6-foot-11 power forward from Memphis — is ranked No. 1 in the junior class by Scout.com and ESPN, and Kentucky is the early favorite in his recruitment. He struck down rumors earlier this month that he might reclassify to 2018 and play college basketball next season.

Barbee watched top 2019 prospects Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis at the Florida-based showcase Monday night.

Kevin Knox

ESPN draft insider Jonathan Givony has a new NBA mock draft up for 2018, and four Kentucky Wildcats are projected as selections.

Freshman forward Kevin Knox is the top Cat listed — going No. 10 overall to the Los Angeles Clippers. He’s followed by fellow freshmen Hamidou Diallo (No. 20), Nick Richards (No. 26) and PJ Washington (No. 37). There are 30 picks in the first round of the NBA Draft.

In that scenario, UK would return seven scholarship players next season: juniors Wenyen Gabriel, Sacha Killeya-Jones and Tai Wynyard, and sophomores Jemarl Baker, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Quade Green and Jarred Vanderbilt. Baker and Vanderbilt have yet to play this season due to injuries.

Quentin Grimes

Five-star combo guard Quentin Grimes will announce his college decision at 7:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, and the finalists are Kentucky, Kansas, Marquette and Texas.

Grimes — a 6-foot-5 prospect from the Houston area — emerged this fall as a major UK recruiting target. In fact, he was the first prospect to get a visit from UK Coach John Calipari during the fall recruiting period that began in September.

Kansas and Texas go into Wednesday night’s announcement as the two favorites in Grimes’ recruitment, however, and the Jayhawks have a majority of the predictions on Grimes’ 247Sports Crystal Ball page. Kansas’ Bill Self and Texas’ Shaka Smart have both visited Grimes in recent days.

Four-star shooting guard Tyler Herro said Sunday night that he will announce his college decision Tuesday, one day before the end of the early signing period and just a couple of days after wrapping up his official visit to Kentucky.

UK has emerged as the major favorite in the recruitment of Herro, a 6-foot-5 prospect from Milwaukee who backed out of a commitment to Wisconsin last month. He took his first official visit to UK over the weekend, and he will not be visiting any other schools between now and his college announcement.

Williamson

National recruiting analyst Andrew Slater switched his 247Sports Crystal Ball pick for Zion Williamson from Kansas to “foggy” on Monday.

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2018 class. He’s No. 2 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Slater is the No. 1-ranked analyst in the 247Sports Crystal Ball standings. He changed his pick for Williamson to “foggy,” a designation that means there isn’t enough credible information on a recruitment to predict a specific team.

Kentucky is among the schools expected to visit four-star shooting guard Tyler Herro this week, according to Wisconsin recruiting insider Evan Flood.

Williamson

Following several weeks of positive buzz in the Kentucky Wildcats’ favor, UK is finally now the favorite on Zion Williamson’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

Kentucky jumped over Kansas this week as the new leader on Williamson’s page. The 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C., has already taken official visits to both of those schools. He’s the No. 1 overall player in the 247Sports rankings and the No. 2 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Williamson is also considering Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina and UCLA. He has not yet set a date for his college announcement, but a decision in time for the early signing period next month remains a possibility.
