Omoruyi

On Tuesday night, four-star center Cliff Omoruyi cut his recruiting list to three schools — Arizona State, Auburn and Rutgers — trimming longtime finalists Kentucky and UConn from consideration.

Since then, Arizona State has emerged as the clear favorite to land Omoruyi’s commitment, according to recruiting analysts and experts. The Sun Devils already had the majority of predictions in Omoruyi’s recruitment before Tuesday’s announcement, but they now have all 17 picks across his 247Sports Crystal Ball page and Rivals.com Future Cast page, including predictions in their favor from national experts Eric Bossi, Corey Evans, Andrew Slater, Jerry Meyer and Brian Snow.

National recruiting expert Andrew Slater logged a Crystal Ball prediction Tuesday for Cliff Omoruyi, and he’s favoring Arizona State to land the highly touted center.

Omoruyi — a 6-foot-11 prospect at Roselle Catholic (N.J.) — has narrowed his choices to Arizona State, Auburn, Kentucky, Rutgers and UConn, and he took his official visit to Tempe last week. Boston

As promised, future Kentucky basketball player Brandon Boston made a major jump in the latest Rivals.com rankings for the class of 2020.

The new rankings, which were posted Monday morning, moved Boston from No. 17 all the way to No. 4 nationally in the 2020 class, behind only Oklahoma State signee Cade Cunningham (the new No. 1), uncommitted guard Jalen Green, and Southern Cal signee Evan Mobley, the previous No. 1.

Boston’s 13-spot jump was the biggest of any player already within Rivals.com’s five-star range. No Kentucky signee has been ranked higher than No. 10 by Rivals.com since the 2016 class, and Boston would be UK’s first top five recruit since 2015.

Four-star center Cliff Omoruyi trimmed his list from 13 schools to eight possibilities Tuesday.

Omoruyi — a 6-foot-11 prospect from Nigeria — is now considering Kentucky, Arizona State, Auburn, Memphis, Miami, NC State, Rutgers and UConn. The five schools that were on his previous list but have now been cut are Louisville, Maryland, Pittsburgh, St. John’s and Temple.

Kentucky extended a scholarship offer to Omoruyi earlier this year. He attends the same New Jersey high school that produced Kahlil Whitney and Isaiah Briscoe. He is not expected to make a college decision until the spring.
