Johnny Juzang

247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels logged a Crystal Ball pick in favor of Kentucky for five-star recruit Johnny Juzang on Wednesday evening, right around the time that Juzang announced he will reclassify to 2019.

Juzang — a 6-foot-6 perimeter player from California — earned a UK scholarship offer last week, and Daniels broke the news Tuesday that Juzang will take an official visit to Kentucky early next week. Juzang said in his reclassification announcement Wednesday that he’s expecting to announce a college decision soon. Virginia, Kansas, Villanova, UCLA and Southern Cal are among the other schools recruiting him, though UK is looking like the favorite.

McDaniels

Several notable predictions were made recently on the Crystal Ball pages of some of the highest-ranked uncommitted basketball recruits in the 2019 class.

D1 Circuit’s Alec Kinsky, who helps oversee media operations on the Nike EYBL travel circuit, logged new predictions for Jaden McDaniels (Washington), Matthew Hurt (Duke), Trendon Watford (Memphis), Precious Achiuwa (UConn) and Lester Quinones (Memphis).

McDaniels, Hurt, Watford and Achiuwa were all McDonald’s All-Americans this year, and Quinones is a top-50 national prospect and one of the best backcourt scorers in the 2019 class. McDaniels and Watford both played on the Nike circuit last summer.

Johnson

John Calipari was in Wisconsin on Thursday to visit with Jalen Johnson, one of the top basketball recruits in the class of 2020.

Johnson — a 6-foot-8 small forward — is the No. 3 overall player in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He has visited UK for Big Blue Madness each of the past two seasons and was one of the first players in his class to land a scholarship offer from the Wildcats.

Duke has also made Johnson a priority, however, and the Blue Devils are the early leader — albeit with a small sample size — on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page. As a junior this past season, Johnson averaged 19.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, earned Wisconsin player of the year honors, and led his team to its first state championship.

The Blue Devils already have commitments from five-star McDonald’s All-Americans Vernon Carey and Wendell Moore, in addition to a pledge from top-50 recruit Boogie Ellis. Duke is also now considered the frontrunner for top-10 recruit Matthew Hurt, who announces his college decision next week.

Top 30 prospect Cassius Stanley could also be joining that Blue Devils’ class.

Michigan State hosted Fletcher for an official visit last month. Snow covered Fletcher at the Swish N Dish recruiting event over the weekend and wrote about his versatility on both ends of the floor. Rivals.com national analyst Eric Bossi also wrote more about Fletcher and his recruitment after watching him this past weekend.
