Tisdale

Future UK running back Travis Tisdale is the only UK signee in the new ESPN 300 national rankings, which were released this week.

Tisdale — a 5-foot-9 prospect from Valdosta, Ga. — is the No. 290 overall prospect nationally in the class of 2019, according to the new ESPN rankings. He officially signed with the Wildcats last month and could factor in to UK’s offensive plans immediately this coming season.

There were six Kentucky high school players in the new ESPN rankings, but none of those recruits signed with in-state schools. They are: South Warren defensive tackle Jacob Lacey (Notre Dame), Trinity defensive end Stephen Herron (Stanford), Glasgow offensive lineman Tanner Bowles (Alabama), Western Hills wide receiver Wandale Robinson (Nebraska), Scott County offensive lineman Bryan Hudson (Virginia Tech) and Louisville Christian wide receiver Milton Wright (Purdue).

James

Three-star defensive lineman Elijah James committed to Kentucky on Sunday following a weekend visit.

James — a 6-foot-4, 300-pound prospect from Chicago — has played two seasons for Iowa Western Community College, accumulating 8.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles for loss and 57 total tackles in 11 games this fall. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 87 junior college prospect in the class of 2018. His other reported scholarship offers were from Southern Miss and Chattanooga.

He’s the Cats’ fourth juco commitment for the 2019 class, joining teammate JaVonte Richardson (a wide receiver), linebacker Marquez Bembry and cornerback Brandin Echols.

James originally signed with Central Michigan out of high school and will have three years to play two seasons at Kentucky, which now has 21 commitments with the early signing period set to start Wednesday.

Douglass

The Rivals 250 national rankings for the football class of 2019 were updated Wednesday, and Kentucky commitments Wandale Robinson and Moses Douglass were both included on the list.

Robinson’s place at No. 98 overall in the updated rankings was announced Tuesday, though there has been buzz this week that the Frankfort native could be flipping his commitment to Nebraska in the near future. A decision on that could come as early as Wednesday. (UPDATE: Robinson flipped to Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon).

Douglass — a 6-foot-2 safety from Springfield, Ohio — is the No. 227 overall player in the Rivals.com rankings. He is the son of former UK star Maurice Douglass.

Neither player was included in the previous edition of the Rivals 250 rankings.

Robinson

A final decision is expected this week from Wandale Robinson, who committed to Kentucky on Nov. 1 but is still being recruited by Nebraska — his previous favorite — and could flip to the Cornhuskers.

247Sports national analyst Steve Wiltfong and several others had logged Crystal Ball predictions in favor of a flip to Nebraska as of Wednesday morning, and an announcement from Robinson — a standout at Western Hills High School in Frankfort — could come as early as Wednesday.

Robinson is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 117 overall prospect in the 2019 class, and he’s the highest-ranked commitment for UK in this cycle. He earned Mr. Football honors from the state’s coaches over the weekend and is expected to play a large role in the Wildcats’ offense.

Four-star linebacker Jared Casey will announce his college decision Thursday.

Casey — a star football recruit at Ballard High School in Louisville — recently decommitted from Oregon, and Kentucky is now seen as a heavy favorite in his recruitment. Casey would be a major addition to the Wildcats’ 2019 recruiting class and is ranked by Rivals.com and 247Sports as one of the top 20 inside linebackers in the class.

Vince Marrow has been UK’s primary recruiter on Casey in recent months.

Three-star defensive lineman Cavon Butler announced his commitment to Kentucky for the class of 2019 on Friday afternoon.

Butler — a 6-foot-3, 285-pound prospect from Toledo — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 53 defensive tackle nationally in his class. He attended an Alabama camp in late June and said afterward that he had received a scholarship offer from Coach Nick Saban.

Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Cincinnati were among his other offers.

Butler was credited with 9.5 tackles and three forced fumbles as a junior last season. He joins Taures Payne as the second defensive lineman in UK’s 2019 class, which now features 15 commitments.

Moses Douglass is the only other UK commitment from the state of Ohio in this class so far.
