Washington’s momentum in the recruitment of five-star post player Isaiah Stewart continued Thursday morning with a new Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Huskies from 247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels.

Daniels, who is admittedly cautious with his Crystal Ball picks, has been correct on 85 of his 88 predictions within the 2019 class. Washington is also now the leader on Stewart’s Crystal Ball page.

The 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, N.Y. — who plays for La Lumiere (Ind.) — is also considering Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State and Syracuse, but the Huskies have been the subject of several prominent predictions in recent weeks. Those now picking Washington for Stewart include Rivals.com analysts Eric Bossi, Corey Evans and Dan McDonald, as well as 247Sports analysts Brian Snow and Jerry Meyer.

Washington is gaining some major traction in the recruitment of five-star center Isaiah Stewart, one of the top targets left on UK’s recruiting board.

Rivals.com national analyst Eric Bossi and 247Sports insider Jerry Meyer are the latest national analysts to log predictions in favor of the Huskies, who landed Stewart’s first official visit back in the fall. Washington is coached by Mike Hopkins, who has a long relationship with Stewart — a 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, N.Y. — going back to his time as a Syracuse assistant coach.

Five-star basketball recruit Isaiah Stewart made clear in an interview on the Tipton Edits Instagram page Tuesday evening that he is still considering Kentucky as a possible landing spot.

Stewart — a 6-foot-9 post player from Rochester, N.Y., now in his senior season at La Lumiere (Ind.) — took an official visit to Lexington in September, but the Cats have been considered long shots by national recruiting analysts in recent weeks. UK extended a scholarship offer far later than the other finalists on Stewart’s list — Duke, Michigan State, Syracuse and Washington — but they’re still in the mix.

Stewart

After a brief flurry of pro-UK predictions surrounding his official visit to Lexington late last month, five-star center Isaiah Stewart’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page is in a bit of disarray.

National analyst Evan Daniels changed his pick on Stewart from Kentucky to “foggy” last week, and some other recruiting analysts who had been predicting Kentucky followed that lead.

Two more picks from national analysts came in Tuesday morning, and they went in different directions. First, 247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer logged a prediction for Michigan State. And then, 247Sports national analyst Brian Snow, who is listed as the “lead expert” on Stewart’s player page, logged a prediction in favor of Washington.

Stewart

247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels changed his Crystal Ball prediction for five-star center Isaiah Stewart from Kentucky to “foggy” Monday night, a day after originally picking the Wildcats.

Stewart — a 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, N.Y. — is the No. 5 overall player in the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He took an official visit to Kentucky this past weekend and visited Washington the week before.

The other schools on Stewart’s list are Duke, Indiana, Michigan State, Syracuse and Villanova. Going into the UK visit, Duke and Michigan State were widely seen as the Cats’ top competition. He does not yet have any other official visits scheduled.

Around the time that five-star post player Isaiah Stewart announced that he would take an official visit to Kentucky this weekend, national recruiting expert Brian Snow logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Wildcats.

Snow, who is listed as the “lead expert” on Stewart’s 247Sports page, is the first national analyst to pick the Cats for the 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, N.Y., but more pro-UK predictions are likely to follow soon. Duke, Michigan State and Villanova had been viewed as the main contenders for Stewart until John Calipari jumped into his recruitment earlier this month.

Calipari visits a pair of top recruits in Indiana

Brooks

John Calipari was expected to be at La Lumiere (Ind.) on Friday to visit with highly touted frontcourt players Keion Brooks and Isaiah Stewart, as first reported by 247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels.

Brooks — a 6-foot-7 forward from Fort Wayne, Ind. — is a longtime UK target. It had been unclear how seriously the Cats were still recruiting Brooks following the commitments of wing players Kahlil Whitney and Isaiah Stewart, but UK is indeed involved with Brooks, who may analysts have been predicting to Indiana in recent weeks.

Stewart — a 6-9 center from Rochester, N.Y. — was on UK’s recruiting radar earlier this summer, though the Cats were not on the most recent list of schools he released. There have been rumblings over the past couple of weeks that Kentucky remains interested, however. Stewart is the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Brooks is No. 21 on that list.
