McDaniels

247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels put in a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of Washington for five-star forward Jaden McDaniels on Saturday, yet another sign that the biggest recruiting target on UK’s 2019 board is trending toward the Huskies.

McDaniels — a 6-foot-10 prospect from Seattle — is expected to announce a commitment to either Washington or Kentucky sometime soon. Last week, UK emerged as a heavy favorite on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page, but Daniels changed his prediction to “undecided” a few days ago and is now going with the Huskies.

The wait for Jaden McDaniels’ college decision is still on, and national recruiting expert Evan Daniels offered his latest thoughts on the five-star basketball prospect on his podcast Friday morning.

McDaniels — a 6-foot-10 forward from Seattle — is on the verge of a college announcement, and Kentucky and Washington are the two teams battling it out for his commitment. Daniels logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Wildcats last week but has since changed that pick to “undecided.” On his podcast — The Sidelines with Evan Daniels — he explained his thinking with that recruitment.

McDaniels

In another sign that things might not be going well for Kentucky in the recruitment of five-star forward Jaden McDaniels, national recruiting expert Andrew Slater logged a Crystal Ball pick in favor of Washington on McDaniels’ 247Sports page Thursday afternoon.

McDaniels — a 6-foot-10 prospect from Seattle — is expected to announce a college decision soon, and his recruitment has come down to Kentucky and the hometown Huskies. UK emerged as a favorite last week, but 247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels has since changed his Crystal Ball pick from Kentucky to “undecided,” and plenty of mystery remains in McDaniels’ recruitment.

McDaniels

247Sports national analyst Evan Daniels has changed his prediction on five-star basketball recruit Jaden McDaniels from Kentucky to “undecided” — another sign of the back-and-forth nature of what has been one of the most mysterious recruitments in the 2019 cycle.

McDaniels — a 6-foot-10 forward from Seattle — narrowed his list last fall to UK, Washington, San Diego State, Texas and UCLA, and his recruitment has been framed as a battle between the Wildcats and hometown Huskies for the past several weeks. Daniels and several other analysts logged picks in favor of UK last week, sparking speculation that McDaniels might be close to a Kentucky commitment.

Maxey

Five-star point guard Tyrese Maxey is the No. 10 overall prospect in the class of 2019 — and the Cats’ only incoming top-10 prospect — according to the final Rivals.com rankings for that group, which were released in full Tuesday.

Maxey dropped one spot from the previous ranking. Other UK commitments in the new rankings are Kahlil Whitney at No. 14 (down six spots), Keion Brooks at No. 28 (down one spot) and Dontaie Allen at No. 67 (down 12 spots). Allen missed almost all of his senior season with a major knee injury.

McDaniels

Several notable predictions were made recently on the Crystal Ball pages of some of the highest-ranked uncommitted basketball recruits in the 2019 class.

D1 Circuit’s Alec Kinsky, who helps oversee media operations on the Nike EYBL travel circuit, logged new predictions for Jaden McDaniels (Washington), Matthew Hurt (Duke), Trendon Watford (Memphis), Precious Achiuwa (UConn) and Lester Quinones (Memphis).

McDaniels, Hurt, Watford and Achiuwa were all McDonald’s All-Americans this year, and Quinones is a top-50 national prospect and one of the best backcourt scorers in the 2019 class. McDaniels and Watford both played on the Nike circuit last summer.

Edwards

There have been a few new predictions of note over the past week on the Rivals.com FutureCast pages — that recruiting service’s counterpart to the 247Sports Crystal Ball — relating to some of UK’s remaining targets in the 2019 class.

Georgia now has 100 percent of the predictions for five-star shooting guard Anthony Edwards, who will announce his college decision Monday morning. Kentucky and Florida State are the other two finalists for Edwards — an Atlanta area prospect — but Rivals.com analysts Eric Bossi, Corey Evans and Dan McDonald are among those predicting he will pick the Bulldogs.

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer has logged a new Crystal Ball prediction in favor of Washington for five-star forward Jaden McDaniels, one of UK’s top remaining basketball targets in the class of 2019.

McDaniels — a 6-foot-10 prospect from Seattle — has narrowed his list to UK, San Diego State, Texas, UCLA and Washington, the hometown school. Earlier this week, five-star center Isaiah Stewart — a friend of McDaniels’ — announced his commitment to the Huskies and immediately said that he would start recruiting McDaniels to join him.

McDaniels

ESPN released a new NBA mock draft for 2020 on Wednesday — after its analysts evaluated several top recruits at the Hoophall Classic over the weekend — and the list of possible picks is filled with current and future Kentucky Wildcats.

Top UK target Jaden McDaniels is the projected No. 1 overall pick in the new mock draft. The 6-foot-10 forward from Seattle is one of the highest ranked prospects in the 2019 class and has narrowed his recruiting list to Kentucky, San Diego State, Texas, UCLA and Washington. He is not expected to make a college decision until the spring.

Another UK target, shooting guard Anthony Edwards, is No. 2 on the list. Edwards — a 6-5 prospect from Atlanta — arrived on UK’s campus earlier this week for his official visit and is also considering Florida State, Georgia, Kansas and North Carolina.

McDaniels

It could be a very good winter of recruiting for the Washington basketball program.

After securing a midseason transfer from UK guard Quade Green and picking up a high-profile commitment from five-star big man Isaiah Stewart, who chose Washington over UK, Duke, Michigan State and Syracuse on Sunday night, the Huskies are now fully focused on Seattle native Jaden McDaniels, another elite prospect in the class of 2019.

McDaniels — a 6-foot-10 forward — played in the Hoophall Classic on ESPNU on Monday morning, and ESPN recruiting analyst Jeff Borzello commented on his recruitment after the game.
