Five-star guard RJ Hampton is no longer considering Kentucky, his father said on a Memphis-based radio program Monday.

Hampton — a 6-foot-5 playmaker from Texas — had narrowed his recruitment to Kentucky, Kansas, Memphis and Texas Tech, and the Jayhawks have emerged as the major favorite in recent weeks. Over the weekend, national recruiting expert Andrew Slater joined 247Sports’ Evan Daniels and Jerry Meyer, and Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi and Corey Evans as the national analysts that have made predictions in favor of Kansas. All of those predictions have come since last month, and most of them were made over the past couple of weeks.

National recruiting analyst Andrew Slater has logged a new Crystal Ball prediction in favor of Kansas for five-star power forward Matthew Hurt, one of UK’s top targets in the class of 2019.

Hurt — a 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, Minn. — was recently announced as part of the 12-player USA Basketball U18 team after taking part in that squad’s training camp in Colorado over the past week.
