Trinity defensive end Stephen Herron is already committed to Michigan, but there’s a new prediction on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

247 national recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction Monday morning that Herron — the No. 1 recruit in the state of Kentucky for the class of 2019 — will ultimately flip his commitment to Stanford.

Herron, who has an offer from UK and has been to Lexington in the past on recruiting visits, is the state’s No. 1 rising senior, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 68 overall national recruit and No. 5 weakside defensive end in the 2019 class.

Michigan landed Herron’s commitment back in July.

UK has done a good bit of its football recruiting in the state of Ohio over the past few years, most recently heading north and plucking four-star linebacker Chris Oats away from Ohio State earlier this month.

The Buckeyes might be returning the favor in 2019.

Ohio State is picking up Crystal Ball predictions for Louisville Christian wide receiver Milton Wright, the No. 1 prospect from the state of Kentucky for the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports rankings.

Vanderbilt

The new ESPN NBA mock draft for 2019 includes zero UK players in the first round. That would be a first for the Wildcats under Coach John Calipari.

ESPN’s updated 2019 draft has three Duke commitments at the very top — R.J. Barrett, Cameron Reddish and Zion Williamson, in that order — only eight one-and-done players total and zero Wildcats in the first round. Jarred Vanderbilt, who would be a sophomore next season, is the top UK player at No. 31 overall, and Nick Richards, who would also be a sophomore next season, is the only other Wildcat on the list at No. 50 overall.

Already in Texas for Saturday night’s game against Texas A&M, UK Coach John Calipari did a little recruiting — watching five-star prospect Tyrese Maxey, the Cats’ top point guard target for the class of 2019.

Calipari has now visited Maxey — a 6-foot-3 player from Garland, Texas — at least three times since October, and Maxey was in Lexington last fall for an unofficial visit to Big Blue Madness.

He’s also considering Michigan State and several others, including Southern Methodist, where his father was recently hired in a support staff role. The Herald-Leader has been told that UK should be considered the frontrunner for Maxey at his point in his recruitment.

Matthew Hurt

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer logged a Crystal Ball prediction Wednesday in favor of Kansas for five-star basketball recruit Matthew Hurt, one of the handful of prospects from the class of 2019 with an early scholarship offer from Kentucky.

Hurt — a 6-foot-10 forward from Minnesota — plays on the Adidas circuit and is one of the top post scorers in the country. The versatile junior is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 4 overall player in the 2019 class.

UK Coach John Calipari visited Hurt in December and extended a UK scholarship offer then. Hurt was also in Lexington last fall for an unofficial visit to UK’s campus.

John Calipari

UK coaches John Calipari and Kenny Payne are expected to visit five-star guard Jalen Lecque in North Carolina on Wednesday, according to national recruiting analyst Andrew Slater.

Lecque — a 6-foot-4 prospect at Christ School (N.C.) — is currently the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2019 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He was originally in the 2018 class before moving back a grade to 2019, though he has publicly acknowledged in recent weeks that he’s considering reclassifying back to 2018, which would allow him to play college basketball next season.

Kentucky has only three signees so far for the 2018 class, and the Cats could have a spot for Lecque in that group.

A UK assistant coach and North Carolina head coach Roy Williams were in Georgia on Wednesday visiting the high school of five-star post player E.J. Montgomery, one of the top uncommitted recruits in the class of 2018.

Montgomery — a 6-foot-10 power forward from Marietta, Ga. — has a list that still includes Kentucky, Duke, UNC, UCLA and several other schools. He’s expected to cut that list to five programs in the next few days.

Less than a week after five-star post player E.J. Montgomery emerged as a realistic UK recruiting target for the class of 2018, national analyst Andrew Slater has logged a prediction in favor of the Duke Blue Devils.

Montgomery — a 6-foot-10 power forward from Marietta, Ga. — decommitted from Auburn last fall and is still looking at several schools, including UK and Duke. The player’s father told 247Sports on Friday that Montgomery plans to cut his list to five schools soon, and Duke will be one of the first to get a visit.

Wiseman

Five-star UK basketball target James Wiseman is the new No. 1 recruit in the updated class of 2019 rankings from 247Sports, which released its latest list Thursday.

Wiseman — a 6-foot-11 power forward from Memphis — was the first player in the junior class to receive a scholarship offer from Kentucky. The Wildcats are also seen as major favorites in his recruitment — UK has all of the picks on his Crystal Ball page — and a commitment down the road from Wiseman would snap a UK skid of missing out on a top-five recruit in three consecutive classes.

Wiseman

Top UK recruiting target James Wiseman remains the No. 1 overall player in the ESPN class of 2019 rankings, which were updated Wednesday morning.

Wiseman — a 6-foot-11 prospect from Memphis — was the first player from the 2019 class to earn a UK scholarship offer, and the Wildcats are heavy favorites on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

Kentucky has extended scholarship offers to seven other prospects in the 2019 rankings: power forward Vernon Carey (No. 2), power forward Matthew Hurt (No. 5), combo guard Bryan Antoine (No. 7), shooting guard Scottie Lewis (No. 8), point guard Tyrese Maxey (No. 14), small forward D.J. Jeffries (No. 17) and small forward Keion Brooks (No. 30).
